SINOPSIS

Durante la última década, Erick ha sido el recluso de la familia. Pero nadie más que él sabe porque.

Hace 10 años, al cumplir 17 años, su vida dio un giro desgarrador cuando se subió a un taxi. El conductor y dos cómplices lo agredieron sexualmente. Para el entonces adolescente, no habría informes policiales. Sin atención médica ni grupos de apoyo o asesoramiento. Sin poder contarle a su familia o amigos más cercanos.

Después de sentirse quebrado por una década, el joven de 27 años está ahora listo para enfrentar su pasado y reclamar su futuro. ¿Encontrará a los perpetradores? ¿Cómo reaccionarán sus familiares y amigos ante sus secretos? ¿Qué será de su vida romántica? ¿Está preparado para enfrentar el juicio de la sociedad hipermasculina de México?

ONE TAXI RIDE es un documental observacional que cuenta la historia íntima de un hombre sobreviviente de una violación. Los pensamientos, temores, luchas y triunfos más íntimos de Erick tejen una dramática historia de un hombre que lucha por un futuro y una vida que valga la pena vivir. Su viaje impacta el mundo a su alrededor de una manera que nunca vio venir.

DECLARACIÓN DEL DIRECTOR

La violencia sexual es un problema global. Y la discusión sobre el asalto sexual de los hombres es en gran medida tabú en todo el mundo, aunque los estudios muestran que el 10% de las víctimas de violación y abuso sexual son hombres en los Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido.

En muchas sociedades, el concepto de que los hombres sean víctimas de violencia sexual fuera de prisión se considera, incluso, un mito. Por lo tanto, no sorprende que los hombres sean mucho menos propensos a denunciar la victimización por violación que las mujeres sobrevivientes. Y la estigmatización contribuye a la falta y la limitación de los recursos sobre el asalto sexual de los hombres en todo el mundo.

La historia de nuestro protagonista, Erick, me atormenta. No solo porque fue asaltado sexualmente. Pero también porque vivimos en un mundo en el que no sentía que tuviera opciones disponibles para enfrentar el violento ataque. Su decisión de mantenerlo en secreto durante 10 años refleja la forma en que la sociedad ha fallado a innumerables personas como él.

ONE TAXI RIDE se adentra en duras incógnitas que rodean un tema que apenas existe en la conciencia social. La película tiene como objetivo crear un diálogo y una discusión sobre un tema apremiante que exige más recursos, tanto para los sobrevivientes como para sus seres queridos.
